2021 has been a phenomenal year for cryptocurrencies and bitcoin. We are seeing a major industry-wide adoption of digital currency and support from notable people all around the world, VCs, banks, and other major financial institutions.
The latest support is coming from the seven-time Super Bowl champion, Tom Brady. Earlier this morning he added “laser eyes” to his Twitter profile picture, a trendy indication of one’s support for Bitcoin. He did so after it was rumored he had been investing in Bitcoin.
And then he finally changed his twitter profile pic to openly and confidently support bitcoin.
Earlier this year, Tom Brady had also announced that he will be launching an NFT platform, Autograph, which will allow celebrities to create and list digital collectibles.
Tom Brady is not the only celebrity who is so much impressed with the concept of NFT but VaynerMedia founder Gary Vaynerchuk has also announced that he will be launching his own NFT project VeeFriends.
Bitcoin, which now boasts over a $1 trillion market capitalization, has garnered support from celebrities and public figures in all walks of life. Brady’s subtle endorsement of Bitcoin will bring yet another wave of excitement to cryptocurrency advocates and football fans alike.
Last month, Kansas City Chiefs player Sean Culkin became the first NFLer to covert his entire salary to Bitcoin. Prior to that, offensive tackle Russell Okung chose to receive half of his $13 million payouts in the world’s largest cryptocurrency.
